Income in the United States

Watch this. I'm curious what your reactions will be...surprised? Impressed? Based upon the commentary, it's clear that the source is angry about it, but we have to ask the question of whether or not this is all o.k.? Is anything illegal being done to create this disparity? If not, then shouldn't those who make this enormous amount of wealth be complimented? Or, should the entire system be changed to create some sort of equality economically in the United States? How could that be accomplished? Would that be legal?

  1. I'm kind of surprised about this because I thought the wealth was more evenly distributed. I never really realized that the CEO's of big corporations had that much of the Nation's wealth. I knew they made a lot of money but I didn't know that they made that much. I mean they work hard so and are good at what they do so they should be able to make more money but I don't believe they should be making all of that money. Nothing illegal is being done here whatsoever. I think there should be a limit on how much people can make in a year. Yeah they work hard but there's people that work hard and don't make hardly anything and they live paycheck to paycheck. It would be legal but I don't believe that the people that have to take the pay cuts will like it at all. Which is understandable because everyone gets upset if your pay gets cut at all.

  2. The disparity between the upper 1% and the rest of America is alarming. I can't believe that such a small number of individuals have the majority of the wealth in America. I understand that they worked hard to get to where they are, but that doesn't mean there should be that big of a gap between the most paid in a company and the least paid in a company. CEO's are making more money in one year than most people will ever dream of seeing in their lifetime. I know none of it is illegal, but that doesn't make it any less sickening. It is hard to justify taking money away from CEO's because everyone thinks they deserve their money.
